Social and civic participation.

We assist you to engage in community groups and events in various ways:

Community Participation

Being a participant at events and community groups of interest is a nice way to meet other people who share your interests. This can be the platform to creating relationships.

LMC knows community well (or at least, where to go to find out more about community!) We walk the streets, read notice boards, access community group newsletters, follow social media pages and more! Once we understand your interests more, we will actively seek out ways for you to attend and join community groups. This involves working with you to plan all logistics and supports to ensure its a huge success for all!

Here are some examples of how we have supported people to connect with community:

  • A spiritual person joined her local weekly religious service.
  • A handyman joined a local mens shed
  • A home gardener joined a local community garden
  • An Aussie citizen is supported to vote.
  • A dancer attends local zumba classes
  • A singer performs with a local community choir
  • A music-lover attends music gigs
  • An actor joined local acting school
  • A soccer player joined a local sports club
  • An art appreciator attends art exhibitions
  • A home cook participates in cooking classes
  • A book-lover joined a local book club
  • A dog-lover goes to dog meet ups
  • A lawn bowler joined his local club

Volunteering

Volunteering with your local community is a wonderful opportunity to contribute and help others as well as connect with and meet new people.

We, at the LMC Group, will get to know you and your preferences, interests and strengths. This becomes the platform to identifying possible roles and environments that would best suit you to actively volunteer in.

From here, a journey is mapped out to help you understand what skills, supports and other requirements including assisting you with uniform, equipment, certificates or qualifications needed for you to fulfil this role.
